Editorial Policy & Corrections
Our standards
- Sources: official statistics and public filings come first, then our own processed datasets built from them, then company press releases. Media reports are only a starting point for our own checks.
- Every number shows its source, a link and an "as of" date. Estimates are always labelled as estimates.
- Fact vs interpretation: we keep the two apart and label any interpretation. We don't forecast prices or returns.
- No advice: we describe data and events. We never recommend buying, selling or holding anything.
- Deals coverage: we find deals through company press releases, public filings and news headlines. We link to the original and write every summary in our own words.
- Sponsorship: sponsored content is always labelled "Sponsored Advertising Content" and kept separate from editorial content. Sponsors have no influence over data, rankings or coverage.
- Style: UK/Irish English; dates in ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD) in data tables.
Corrections policy
We aim to be accurate. Every number we publish shows its source and an "as of" date.
If we get something wrong, we fix it as soon as we confirm the error. On the web, we update the page and add a dated note saying what changed. In the newsletter, we print the correction at the top of the next issue. Serious errors get a separate correction email to subscribers.
We do not silently change published figures, and we never change data or rankings because someone paid us.
Spotted an error? Reply to any issue or email [email protected], with a link and the source if you have one. We aim to respond within two business days.
